Made for brand-new cubers!
🚧 Coming soon to the App Store
Point the camera and give the cube a spin. A flat map of all six sides fills in as you go, then folds up into your cube on screen.
An arrow curls around the cube showing which way the side turns, and a voice says what to do. Tap I did it! and it moves on.
Rather do a whole step on your own? Say so, and when you're done it takes another look at your cube to see how you got on.
NoobCube was built for a five year old who can't read yet, so nothing important is ever text on its own. Every instruction is spoken, and the mute and say it again buttons sit on every screen — because the first thing a small child does is ask you to repeat it.
The daisy method, the gentlest way in: make a flower of white petals on the top, drop them into a white cross, and build up a layer at a time. There are only seven short sequences to learn in the whole thing, and the app never shows a move it hasn't taught you.
Stuck halfway? Show it the cube again at any point. Steps you've already finished stay finished.
Got a GAN smart cube? Show your cube to the camera once, and from then on NoobCube follows every turn over Bluetooth — no tapping, steps ticking off as your hands move. A smart cube knows which way you turned it but not what colour anything is, which is why it still needs that first look. Written for all three GAN generations and tested as far as it can be without a cube on the desk, so treat it as nearly-there rather than finished.
Show it your cube 📷 … follow the ARROWS 🔄 … and the last piece CLICKS INTO PLACE! 🎉
Screenshots coming as soon as it's running on a phone.
Not out yet. NoobCube is being built for iPhone, iOS 17 or newer. It needs the camera to look at your cube, and that's the only thing it asks for.
It'll land on the App Store when it's ready — and when a five year old has given it a proper going over.
